The X Into O Hair Style

This is a popular braid done at renaissance faires. It is a wonderful hair style for a wedding, prom, or other special event, too.

Step 1. Take the hair and part it into four sections as shown in the picture above.

Step 2. Take the hair and French braid the top left front section down to the bottom right section. Braid all the way down as far as you can and tie the end off with a clear elastic. Take the top right side and French braid that down and into the lower left section. You will then have a French braided X pattern.

Step 3. Take the bottom two braids and cross them at the nape of the neck and bring the two braided tails back up and around the outside of the X pattern. Use hair pins to hold in place and take the very ends of the braid and tuck them into the front sides of the French braided pattern.

Step 4. Final picture. At Renaissance fairs ribbons are braided into the hair for a pretty look. Use artificial flowers or baby's breath to decorate the insides of the X pattern.
